Five Henderson State Reddies were named to the All-Great American Conference Baseball Team released Thursday.
Brittain Diamond,
Adam Ussery and
Josh Salmon all earned first-team honors, while
Nathan Eller and
Conner Brackhahn were honorable mention picks.
Diamond has been stellar on the mound this season posting a 7-3 record with a 1.98 earned run average.
The senior from Sulphur Springs, Texas has struckout 67 batters in 91 innings of work and has not given up more than three earned runs in any one game.
Salmon has been Henderson's top hitter all season and one of the best in the GAC. The junior outfielder from Marshall, Texas enters the GAC Tournament with a .387 average and a .521 slugging percentage. Salmon has driven in a team-best 36 runs and is hitting .453 with runners in scoring position.
Ussery, who has been a mainstay for the Reddies at third base, is hitting .331 on the year and has stolen a team-best 14 bases. The Jacksonville, Ark, product has a .423 on base percentage.
Eller has been Henderson's number one starter on the bump this season and has a 4-4 record with 3.54 ERA. The junior from Sherwood, Ark. has made 12 starts, struckout 45 batters and has pitched at least six innings in all 12 games.
Brockhahn is hitting .318 with a .413 on base percentage this season. The sophomore outfielder from Sulphur Springs, Texas has hit a team-best 13 doubles and is riding an eight-game hitting streak into the GAC Tournament.
Henderson State will begin the GAC Tournament on Friday when the Reddies face top seeded Southern Arkansas. First pitch is set for Noon at David Allen Park in Enid, Okla.
