The Henderson State women's basketball team will return home on Thursday to take on Southern Arkansas in Great American Conference action with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
After falling in their last three contests, the Reddies(8-7 GAC) look to get back on track against the Lady Muleriders(9-6 GAC) and currently sit tied for fifth in the conference standings.
HSU's last game was Saturday as the Reddies fell 68-51 to Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant, Okla.
Henderson State was led by
Dulincia Keener who had 17 points and 12 boards.
Victoria Stewart pitched in 13 points, while
Moe Bedford had 12 along with eight rebounds.
Henderson State finished the game making 18-of-56 attempts from the field for 32 percent, while SOSU shot 30-of-68 from the field for 44 percent.
The Reddies were outrebounded 40-39, but did knock down 13-of-16 free throw attempts in that contest for 81 percent.
Southern Arkansas comes in off a 98-80 road loss at Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday, and sport a 9-7 record in the GAC.
The Lady Muleriders were led by Rosa Bryant with 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Tierra Tucker followed with 18 points and Caroline Ficher rounded out double-figure scoring for the Lady Muleriders with a career-high 17 points.
SAU would connect on 30-of-81 attempts from the field for 37 percent, while SWOSU was 32-of-68 for 47 percent.
HSU averages 69.7 points per game this season, shooting 40 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range.
The Reddies also knock down 1.3 more three-pointers per game than opponents this season.
Keener leads the team in scoring this season averaging 17.3 points per game, and also averages 8.8 rebounds per contest.
Stewart averages 12.9 points per game and also averages 2.6 assists per game.
Haleigh Henson is third in scoring averaging 10.6 points, while
Brittany Branum pitches in 7.9 points per game and is second on the team averaging 5.7 rebounds per game.
Bedford also averages 7.4 points and leads the team in assists per game at 2.8.
In the last meeting between Henderson State and Southern Arkansas, HSU fell to SAU 78-70 in Magnolia back on Jan. 14.
Three players scored in double-figures, as Henson led the Reddies with 19 points with Stewart adding 17 points and dishing out four assists.
Also scoring in double-figures was Keener with 12 points, as the senior finished with a double-double also pulling down 11 boards.
Henderson finished the game shooting 37percent from the field knocking down 22-of-60 shot attempts.
HSU also converted on 18-of-24 attempts from the charity stripe.
Bryant led Southern Arkansas with 19 points in that game, while Jaida Harden had 17 points and Tucker pitched in 15.
HSU leads the all-time series over SAU 51-45-1.
The first time the two schools played each other was in the 1971-72 season, as HSU took a 42-39 victory.
