Colton Coffman and Brentten Schwabb had three hits each to lead Henderson State to a 9-3 win over Southwestern Oklahoma to win the best-of-three series portion of the Great American Conference Tournament.

The Reddies beat the Bulldogs on Friday 2-0 to take the opener, and collected 13 hits in Saturday's game to claim the series and advance to the double-elimination portion of the GAC Tournament. Henderson will face top seeded Southern Arkansas on Thursday with the first pitch set for 1 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Henderson, 30-19 on the season, scored in six different innings and took an early 1-0 lead in the opening frame on a Coffman single to center field that plated
Alan Hall who walked to lead off the inning.

With the score tied at 1-1, the Reddies regained the lead in the third when
Jordan Taylor lined a double to right-center field again scoring Hall who walked earlier.

Hall brought in Henderson's third run in the fourth-inning when he walked for a third time with the bases loaded then
Joe Myers made the score 4-1 the next inning when he smacked a double to left-center field scoring Coffman who reached on a two-out single.

The Reddies increased the lead to 6-1 in the sixth-inning as Henderson put together four hits in the frame with
Hayden Lessenberry having a RBI single with the second run being scored on a balk that plated Hall.

After Southwestern Oklahoma cut the deficit to 6-3 with two runs in the seventh, Henderson tacked on three runs in the eighth with the help of a run-scoring single by Coffman, a bases loaded walk given to
Luke McGuire to score a run, and
Kearon Redmon forcing in a run when he was hit by a pitch.

Luke Tebbetts pitched six innings for the Reddies giving up three runs on seven hits in picking up the win and improving to 9-2 on the year.

Austin Cross replaced Tebbetts in the seventh and got the Reddies out of the inning retiring the side.
Blake Patterson entered the game to begin the eighth-inning and retired all six batters he faced including striking out three Bulldog hitters to pick up his league-leading 12
th save of the year.

Coffman finished the day going 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs batted in and two runs scored, while Schwabb was 3-for-5 with a run scored.

Jones was 2-for-4 in the game, with Hall going 1-for-2 while being walked three times and scoring three runs.
Henderson has recorded 30 or more wins in each of the last three seasons for the first time in school history, with this year being the fifth time the Reddies have scored 30 or more victories in a season.

Henderson will host the GAC double-elimination round of the tournament with the field consisting of four teams beginning with two games on Thursday, three games Friday and the championship games Saturday.
